Physician (MD) - Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology
Job Details:
- Locum Tenens coverage for Hematology/Oncology with ongoing assignments beginning 9/21/2026
- Preferred schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional night and weekend call included in the assignment
- Call is currently 1:2 with very few calls and can be performed via phone
- Practice is 95% outpatient and 5% inpatient with a target patient load of 10-15 patients per day
- New patient consults are scheduled at 60 minutes and follow-up appointments at 30 minutes
- Part of a 4-provider group consisting of 1 physician and 3 APPs within a collegial and supportive employed practice environment
- Inpatient rounding is typically managed by APPs; oncology is consulted as needed through the hospitalist group
- Office utilizes ONCO EMR; each provider is assigned to three rooms with patients roomed by an RN and comprehensive assessments performed
- Genetic counselor available onsite along with a weekly tumor board and strong primary care support
- Research department with 1 dedicated research associate for oncology and a tumor registry with 2 CTRs on staff
- Facility is physically co-located with radiation oncology, featuring a shared waiting area
- Board certification required; must hold an active Michigan medical license (IMLC not accepted)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is 60 days
- Nearest airport is Sawyer Regional Airport; lodging available at Best Western Plus
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
