Flexible General Cardiology Coverage Needed in Pennsylvania

Job description

A hospital in Pennsylvania is seeking a General Cardiologist for ongoing locum tenens coverage. The ideal physician can provide approximately two weeks per month, but the client will consider individual weeks, partial availability, and other workable coverage arrangements.

The assignment combines outpatient clinic, procedures, and call. Weekday coverage is generally scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with approximately one to two nights of call during select working weeks and weekend call about once every four to five weeks.

The cardiologist will see approximately 17 to 18 adult patients per day. Clinical responsibilities may include nuclear reads, stress testing, TEEs, cardioversions, and echo monitoring. The department uses Epic and is associated with a 150-bed hospital. The clinic currently has one full-time physician, with APP support available.

Average nighttime callback activity is reported as zero. Weekend callback activity is also reported as zero, although the physician will be expected to round when covering a weekend.

July 27–31
August 10–14
August 24–28
September 8–11
September 21–25
October 5–9
October 19–23
November 2–6
November 16–20
November 30–December 4
December 14–18

Select blocks also include overnight or weekend call. Physicians do not need to cover every listed date to be considered.

Candidates should be board certified or board eligible in Cardiology and must be boarded in Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. CT certification is preferred but is not a dealbreaker. An active Pennsylvania license or IMLC Letter of Qualification in hand is required, along with an active DEA. At least one year of experience is preferred.

Temporary privileges may be available for urgent needs when the physician already holds a Pennsylvania license and has a clean, non-complex file.
