Facility:
This radiation oncology department is a collaborative, well-supported environment with friendly staff and strong oncology teamwork. The facility is equipped with modern technology including two Varian TrueBeams, a Siemens Go Open Pro large bore CT scanner with respiratory gating, an Identify Motion Management System, Varian Eclipse treatment planning, MIM, ARIA EMR, and EPIC for clinic practice.
Opportunity:
Physician - Radiation Oncology
Job Details:
- Provide radiation oncology services with approximately 10-16 patients under treatment per day per physician
- Average of 3-5 CT sims per day across the physician team
- Approximately 2-3 consults per day, four days per week, with no consults typically scheduled on OTV day
- Follow-up volume of approximately 10-12 per week, with consults scheduled for 60 minutes and follow-ups for 30 minutes
- Locums will not be working solo, with at least 2 Radiation Oncologists in the department at all times
- Typical schedule includes clinic and treatments from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday scheduled for consults, follow-ups, and simulations; Tuesday reserved as OTV day
- Handle inpatient and outpatient consults, follow-up visits, CT sim orders, treatment planning, critical structures, RT prescriptions, plan approval, imaging orders, and review/approval
- Collaborate closely with other oncology team members including chart rounds, system peer rounds, and tumor conferences
- Required proficiency in EPIC, Varian ARIA, and Eclipse, along with experience using Varian TrueBeam
- Required to perform Linear Accelerator procedures including Rapid Arc/VMAT and Electrons
- Required techniques include Conventional/Conformal Therapy, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, and SRS
- Required treatment planning includes Conventional treatment planning, Beam shaping (MLC), 3D CRT, IMRT, PET CT or MRI Image Fusion, and Electronic Portal Imaging (EPI)
- Must be onsite during hours of operation
- Board certification required with BLS certification
- Credentialing timeframe approximately 45-120 days
- Nearest airports are MSP or DLH
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
